The Road That Led Here

I have never taken the easy path. Looking back, I'm not sure I even knew what the easy path looked like.

I grew up always feeling like the outcast — the one who didn't quite fit, who was always searching for a place to belong. That hunger for belonging led me to look for love and approval in places that were never equipped to give it. I confused attention with love. I confused acceptance with worth. And the price I paid for that confusion was steep. I came out of those years beaten down, empty, and carrying wounds that I didn't even have words for yet.

I served in the United States military. I gave years of my life to something bigger than myself — and still, the darkness followed me in. Low self-esteem. Lower self-respect. An anger that lived just beneath the surface of everything I did. Service didn't fix me. Strength didn't save me. I was still broken on the inside, just in a uniform.

I hit rock bottom. More than once.

And every single time, I got back up — not because I had it figured out, but because something in me refused to stay down. I just didn't know yet what that something was.

The Moment Everything Shifted

At my absolute lowest, I kept feeling this pull. Quiet. Persistent. Impossible to ignore.

Open the Bible. Just talk to Him.

So I did. Not perfectly. Not with the right words or the right posture or any idea what I was doing. I just opened it and started talking to Jesus like He was the only one left in the room — because honestly, He was.

That didn't fix everything overnight. I still stumble. I still trip and fall and have to get back up again. I am not a polished testimony with a neat bow on it. I am a woman in the middle of her becoming — and I think that's exactly why I'm supposed to be here.

This boutique didn't start as a faith business. It evolved into one. Because the closer I got to Jesus, the more He redirected everything — my purpose, my creativity, my story. Every redirect felt like a loss in the moment. Looking back, every single one was Him clearing the path.
